Call for Proposals: the 75th Annual Midwest Conference on Asian Affairs (MCAA)

The call for proposals is now open for the 75th Annual Midwest Conference on Asian Affairs (MCAA).

The 2026 Midwest Conference on Asian Affairs (MCAA) will be held at the University of Wisconsin–La Crosse from October 2–4, 2026. Organized by UW–Madison History PhD and Professor Shuma Iwai, the conference brings together scholars of Asian studies from across the Midwest and beyond.

MCAA welcomes proposals for individual papers, panels, and roundtables from undergraduate students, graduate students, and faculty across disciplines. This is an excellent opportunity to share research, receive feedback, and connect with scholars in the field. Faculty members interested in serving as session chairs are also encouraged to participate.

The submission deadline is May 31, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. Central Time, with notifications to be sent by June 30, 2026.

Submit your proposal through the conference submission portal.
