Dr. Kaishan Kong earned her bachelor’s degree in English Education at Zhanjiang University in China, her M.A. in Intercultural Communication at the University of Sheffield in the UK, and her Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction at the University of Minnesota. She has been teaching Chinese at UW-Eau Claire since 2014. Over the past six years, she has developed multiple courses related to the Chinese language and culture, and established a Chinese Certificate program. Her research interests include intercultural communicative competence, study abroad, and teacher education. She appreciates the variety of opportunities offered in the UW-System that allow her to collaborate with undergraduate students on research, to lead study-abroad programs, and to engage in creative projects.
