Abstract:
In the early 1900s, a group of Chinese students came to the UW-Madison School of Pharmacy to study the biochemical properties of plants traditionally identified as medicine in China. This talk was based on the exhibition of archival materials from the American Institute of the History of Pharmacy (AIHP).
Biography:
JJ Strange is a History Ph.D. student in the History of Science, Medicine and Technology Program. Her research focuses on the creation of a scientific disciplines in China during the twentieth century.
