East Asian Studies Certificate Holder Jinwan Park Receives Prestigious Schwarzman Scholarship

University of Wisconsin–Madison senior Jinwan Park has been accepted as a 2024-2025 Schwarzman Scholar. A Political Science major with a certificate in East Asian Studies, Park will be graduating this December and is being featured as a notable graduate at the 2023 UW–Madison Winter Commencement.

Schwarzman Scholars, one of the world’s most prestigious graduate fellowship programs, is a one-year, fully-funded master’s degree program in global affairs at Schwarzman College, Tsinghua University in Beijing, China. Inspired by the Rhodes Scholarship, it is the first scholarship of its kind created to respond to the geopolitical landscape of the 21st century and designed to prepare the next generation of global leaders.

A South Korean native who transferred to UW–Madison in the spring of 2022, Park is passionate about foreign policy and international diplomacy. This scholarship will advance his goals of building a career in South Korean foreign policy.
