Other Undergraduate Curricular options related to EAS

Besides those options listed above (B.A. and Certificate in EAS), there are additional undergraduate degree options related to EAS.  The below is brief descriptions of requirements for some of the undergraduate curriculum options related to EAS. 

B.A. in EALL in Chinese

  • 8-course language sequence
  • 2 upper-level literature or linguistics courses
  • An additional advanced EALL course
  • Other upper level credits

B.A. in EALL in Japanese

  • 8-course language sequence
  • 2 upper-level literature courses
  • A history and an additional advanced EALL course
  • Other upper level credits

Certificates for Teaching Chinese and Japanese

  • Meet requirements for Secondary Education Program, proficiency testing in language, language pedagogy courses and student teaching

Certificate in Technical Japanese

  • 3 semesters of Japanese and two of intermediate technical Japanese, and an elective in Japanese language or culture
