The Ichiro & Toyoko Matsudaira Memorial Fund

The Center for East Asian Studies is now accepting applications for the 2018 Matsudaira scholarship. The deadline for the 2017 Matsudaira Scholarship is Dec. 31, 2017.

The Ichiro & Toyoko Matsudaira Memorial Scholarship annually funds one student's participation in the Japan-America Student Conference (JASC), which will take place Aug. 3-27, 2018, in cities across the U.S., including MADISON!!!! Yes, that's right, this year's conference starts on the campus of UW-Madison, and then continues to D.C. and Lexington, Virginia, before ending at Portland, OR.

Please visit the event website for more information about JASC. To apply, please send a copy of your JASC application package to our office in 325 Ingraham by Dec. 31, 2016. The application includes a personal statement, a 300-500 statement of purpose, a document answering three short-answer questions, a resume and 1-2 letters of recommendation.
