2014 UW-Friends Summer Camping

Greetings to all the friends of the UW! The UW Friends, together with the Center for East Asian Studies, is pleased to announce a new summer camp for Chinese parents and their children. The details are:

Dates: July 17 to Aug 14
Location: UW-Madison Campus
Parents Activities: Symposium on American Higher Education held in conjunction with the UW-Friends Summer Camping
Children Activities: English classes as well as classes on, technology, culture, science, society, and the arts; sports; field trips in and around Madison

Estimated cost: $3,400 per child and $2,100 to $2,400 per adult, including all costs including courses, accomodation and insurance, but not including international travel, visa and immigration fees and personal expenses within the U.S., which you are responsible for. Cost for participants already in the U.S. may be lower.

If you are interested in attending, please respond by March 31 with an email to Dr. Wei Jing, Center for East Asian Studies, University of Wisconsin-Madison (wei22@wisc.edu). Please title the email “2014 Summer Camp” and provide the following information:

Your name
The names of the children who will accompany you
The ages of the children who will accompany you
Your hometown in China
Your home institution in China

If you are already in the United States, also tell us where you are in the U.S.

After you have sent this information to Dr. Wei, you will have until April 3 to use our registration website to provide full information about you and the children who will accompany you and a $1,000 deposit per person. We will then send you two letters of invitation that you can use to apply for funding from your home institution and make an appointment at the appropriate U.S. Embassy or Consulate to apply for a visa. We only have space for 20 children and 10 adults, so we must grant participation on a first-come, first-serve basis.

You will then have until May 15 to pay the remainder of the cost and provide us with a copy of your visa documents.

If you have any questions, please contact Dr. Wei. Also you can check the Chinese version of this camping here 2014 UW-Friends暑期夏令营
