UW Friends Reception
The Center for East Asian Studies would like to invite you to attend a reception marking the beginning of a new organization, UW-Friends. This new group is open to UW faculty, staff, alumni, graduate students, and especially visiting scholars both past and present; it is intended to bring together people from all five groups for both social and academic activities both here in Madison and overseas, to improve the links between UW faculty and staff and alumni and visiting scholars, and to help build a network of the friends of the UW that will benefit us all in the future..
The reception will take place Sunday, February 23 in the Engineering Centers Building, Tong Auditorium, from 3:00 - 5:00 pm. Refreshments will be served.
The program is quite simple: After short remarks by first Director of the UW-Friends Dr. Jiang Yong, Center for East Asian Studies Associate Director Dr. Richard Miller, and one or two special guests, you will have an opportunity to meet and mingle with other like-minded friends of the UW. We ask that you answer a short questionnaire at the reception to help guide the future development of the UW-Friends, and we encourage you to tell your colleagues about this reception. Please let us know if you are coming, though, so we can organize adequate refreshments—please send your response via email to email@example.com or contact with Jiang Yong or Wei Jing by Friday, February 21.
